Last Monday night was one of the greatest nights of my life. Not only did I get to see one of my favorite bands live for the fifth time, but I also had the opportunity to shoot the show. In the past years Jack’s Mannequin has stopped by my area multiple times, but none of those visits were as memorable as his performance last week.
The first band to perform was an indie rock band called Vedera. To be honest, I hadn’t heard of this band before the show, but right as the band started playing I was pleasantly surprised at how impressive they were. Lead singer Kristen May has an outstanding voice and I highly recommend you to check them out, if you haven’t done so already.
The next band to perform was fun. Fun. was formed by The Format’s Nate Ruess, Anathallo’s Andrew Dost, and Steel Train’s Jack Antonoff. Having seen fun. two times before, I was very excited to see them again. Fun. is easily one of the best live bands I’ve seen. Each member of fun. looked like they were having the time of their lives performing. Every band should perform this way, not only putting on a great show, but having fun while doing so.
Their setlist consisted of:
Walking the Dog
I Wanna Be the One
All the Pretty Girls
Barlights
The Gambler
At Least I’m Not As Sad
Take Your Time
Jack’s Mannequin killed it, their performance was flawless. No words can describe how amazing that show was. McMahon captivated the crowd with his spot on vocals and well-executed movements. Did I mention that he also crowdsurfed from the front of the stage to the back of the venue, and back to the front again?
Before performing the final song of the night, La La Lie, Andrew told us that this will be the last tour supporting The Glass Passenger, as he will be touring some dates with his old band Something Corporate, and hitting the studio to work on a new Jack’s Mannequin album. If you haven’t seen Jack’s Mannequin perform live before, you’re missing out.
Their setlist consisted of:
