This kind of punk really isn’t my cup of tea. No I don’t mean the music sucks, I just mean I normally don’t listen to bands with a lead singer who has a higher voice. I enjoy a band with a singer who has a deeper voice, and I mean deeper then this. Aside from that I did enjoy ‘Burning At Both Ends’ – a lot.
One of my favorite songs from this album is Product Of The 80s. What can I say, it made me laugh – in a good way – because I know everything they’re talking about. Their younger fans will have to use google to figure out some of the references. It’s a perfect pop-punk song. It makes you want to bounce right along and after a few listens you’ll be singing while you bounce.
This album, each song fits together well when it comes to the sound. They know who they are when it comes to their sound and they’re going to stick to it.
The track ‘The Last American Virgin’ is the “romantic” song on the album. It makes me think of someone who is very special to me and just wanting to run away with that person. Having those feelings for that person you wish and hope that person feels the same way. Wanting that relationship to grow – to be with that person and make something so much more. This is the first new song in a while that I’ve been able to connect with in the way I did.
Overall this album has a strong pop-punk feel to it. Some songs are faster paced then others – some songs the pace changes throughout the song. As I said before Set Your Goals knows the sound and feel they want and they’re set on it – not a bad thing at all.
Very enjoyable able with some songs that will forever be playing in my head.
